NDIS allocates funds for an NDIS Plan Manager separately. This means our service does not come out of your core budget and will not effect any other funding for your plan. The best part is all NDIS participants are eligible to choose this Plan Management funding if they wish. There are no hoops to jump! Just ask at your plan meeting if you would like Plan Management.
To choose if Plan Management is right for you it is important to know all your options. NDIS currently offer 4 ways of managing your funding. These are NDIA managed, plan-managed, self-managed or mixed.
NDIA managed is when the agency pays your providers on your behalf. It is important to know you can only use registered providers with the NDIS if you choose this option.
Plan-managed is when NDIS funds a Plan Manager to pay your providers and assist you to keep track of your funds. Plan Managers can pay both registered and unregistered providers offering you greater choice and control.
Self-managed is when you can have access to the NDIS portal to organise payments for your providers. You can utilise both registered and unregistered providers. FSPM offers bookkeeping and capacity building services for self-managers or aspiring self-managers.
Mixed is where you can mix between the 3 options. For example, you can utilise a plan manager to organise some of the processing, that is getting in the way of you achieving your goals. While continuing the choice to self-manage other parts of your plan.
1. How quickly do you pay?
We process invoices every day; all valid invoices received before 1pm are uploaded to our system. These will be available for your approval if you choose to approve your invoices or sent straight to the portal for payment if you setup standing approval.
2. Do you ask for my approval before you pay each invoice that comes to you?
That is up to you, you can decide to approve your invoices or not. We offer you a choice of multiple options including approving all invoices, invoices over agreed amounts or from agreed providers, as well as the options of a standing approval.
3. Can I login and see all invoices and balances etc?
Yes, we can link you with a 24/7 app which allows you to not only see amounts deducted but view a copy of the invoice as well. It will also show original and current balances.
4. Who covers for you when you’re away or sick?
When your Plan Manager is away unexpectedly, we have procedures in place to ensure all invoices are still processed daily. We have trained consultants who can help with questions during this time. We will always advise when your personal Plan Manager is expected to go on leave, this will allow them to ensure your plan is up to date prior to their time off.
5. Can I call you and speak to a human?
Absolutely, at FSPM we guarantee a dedicated Plan Manager who has read your plan. We will never have a call centre or ask you to email a generic email address.
6. Can you talk me through my plan?
Absolutely, we love our zoom/team sessions/phone calls with clients to get to know you better and ensure you completely understand the flexibility of your NDIS plan and how to make sure it meets your needs.
7. Do you have an app or another easy way for me to keep track of my budgets?
Yes, we can link you with a 24/7 app which allows you to not only see amounts deducted but view a copy of your invoices as well. It will also show original and current balances.
8. How long have you been doing this work?
Our business is 3 years old.
9. Will you pay above NDIS rates?
No, as a Plan Manager we must enforce the NDIS pricing arrangements and can pay no more than listed maximums. We are more than happy to explain the individual maximum prices.
10. Do you make decisions on what you will and won’t pay, or am I the decision maker?
You are the decision maker. We cannot process anything against NDIS legislation or pay above the pricing arrangement. However, if there is adequate funding in your plan, you are free to have choice and control over your supports. We are happy to help you understand the reasonable and necessary requirements, but you are the ultimate decision maker of your supports.
11. Can you help guide me on making decisions about what I can and can't claim?
Absolutely, we can help explain your plan and what all the flexible line items are in each category. We are then happy to go over the reasonable and necessary questions with you so that you understand each point.
12. Is Plan Management your main business, or are you registered for lots of things? (it's nearly always best to have your Plan Manager separate from your other supports and services)
We only offer Plan Management. We offer no other NDIS supports and will continue to ensure we remain free of conflict with other providers.
13. What information do you require on submitted receipts to reimburse me?
We will need your bank information to transfer the funds. If it was a sale that does not require an ABN, we do not need an ABN. However, if it was purchased through an enterprise, we will need proof of purchase receipt/invoice with a valid ABN.
14. Can you meet my accessibility needs?
We offer email, phone calls, text messages, zoom/teams calls, Facebook messages and can organise an interpreter.
15. Will you reimburse me for services I pay for, or will you only pay on invoices, direct to providers?
We will reimburse you. We want you to be free to use your plan the way you choose. If you prefer to pay for supports first and then be reimbursed, that’s great. If you would rather the supports are invoiced to us, that’s great too!
16. How often will you provide me with up-to-date budget statements?
You will receive a statement on the first day of the month, every month! We can also generate a statement automatically whenever needed, you just need to contact your personal Plan Manager, and they will organise one promptly.
